JTG owners in their own words about James Tyler Guitars
“Mine is the single greatest guitar I've ever played. 5 different people I know bought Tylers after playing mine.”

“My Classic's bridge is perfectly parallel to the body and can pull the G string up to a minor third. This guitar stays in tune no matter how I use the tremolo bar! I love it so much that I'm planning on ordering another one equipped with 6 screw bridge and lower output pickups.”

“I'm up to four and have been lucky. All bought without trying out first (stupid thing to do most times). All exceeded my expectations and without "buyers remorse"

“I have two and have owned several others. It's hard, no impossible, to describe why they are so good. Perhaps Jim sold his soul at the Crossroads? We likely will never know. But truly they are superb….”

“I have an SE and a classic- not sure if it's how the nut is cut or what it is but they are so easy to play. I've gone through a bunch of s-stlyle guitars: Suhrs, Grosh, Sadowsky and Fenders- my Tylers are the keepers for me. All the other guitars were great but the playability on the Tyler's won out. It could just be that their necks just work for my hands- they sound great too”

“On face of it they look like a super strat with odd headstocks and weird paint jobs. But my Tyler is the most inspiring instrument I own not just because of the way it sounds or its versatility, but for the way it plays.
I have the 59 standard neck and it is just amazing. I have a 1959 strat and the neck on the Tyler is really nothing like it. It may have the same specific dimensions here and there but the neck carve is different. The only way I can describe it is that on other guitars the neck seems to play better in some positions than others. On the Tyler it is consistent and uniformly comfortable all the way up and around the neck. There is also some subtle thing going on with the shape of the fingerboard. The mystery is that I usually hate bigger necks but the one on the Tyler is just perfect.”

“My Tyler Burning Water is my wife's favorite of my 15 or so electrics, and that's true testimony from a non-musician.
What I know is that is has the best guitar neck I've ever handled; don't know how they do it, but the neck is to die for.As for the headstock, I think it's kind of cheesy looking, but once you get started playing the guitar, it's so sublime you forget all about the headstock.
I get tons of comments on how cool people think the Burning Water finish is.”

“Their necks are like crack. Once you tried one out, your brain will only be focussed 100% towards the next Tyler fix.”

Fret work, hand carved necks, cool finishes, excellent hardware and pickups. Sound great, play great.... Great time to be a guitar player these days...”

“They are very good guitars and nothing else feels like them, nobody has yet successfully reproduced shmear finishes either. I can't imagine ever selling mine, and so do most owners. Something that is loved and hard to replace, you don't let it go.”

“I've played a couple of Tylers over the years - absolutely stunning, one of the few guitars in that kind of price range that I feel are actually worth the money.”

“Tylers have always held their value higher than most small builders. It is partly because they don't make as many guitars a year and so there are fewer on the used market. They have a different feel and are deserving of their status as one of the best guitars being made today. Their pickups are terrific as well.”

“I think there are numerous reasons why Tyler's values stay so high. The guitars have a different feel and style than the others you mentioned. I have owned all of the ones you mentioned. They were all great but the Tyler is the one I always reached for and kept. It may sound cliche, but the Tyler's just feel organic. Impeccable build quality without feeling sterile. Not to mention that the production volume is very small so... higher demand”

“The super cool finishes, the neck feel, the weight (light), the contours, the overall playability, the cool pickups, etc. I own a couple.”
